Like other hospital admission offices, the admission office at Nimeh Shaaban Hospital admits patients referred by the emergency department or by the hospital's affiliated physicians.
Before you come, please read the lists of documents required for admission and documents required by insurers, and bring the documents with you.
Inpatient admission step by step
- The patient comes to the admission office.
- Does the patient have an admission order from the treating physician?
- Yes: go to step 3.
- No: Phone the treating physician and open the file once the physician approves (admission clerk); then step 3.
- Does the patient have supplementary insurance?
- Yes: Collect ID and the other required medical documents, issue the supplementary-insurance referral letter and open the file (admission clerk); then step 4.
- No: Collect ID and the other required medical documents, take a deposit and open the file (admission clerk); then step 4.
- Is the patient able to pay the costs?
- Yes: Transfer the patient to the ward that matches the service ordered by the physician, in coordination with the nursing supervisor (welcome nurse); admission is complete.
- No: Call the treating physician for instructions (admission clerk); then step 5.
- Does the treating physician order admission without a deposit?
- Yes: Open the file and transfer the patient to the ward on the terms set by the treating physician (admission clerk); admission is complete.
- No: The patient decides not to be admitted and goes back to the physician's clinic (patient); the patient leaves the hospital.
