- Fast for 8 hours before coming to the laboratory.
- The sample should be taken at least 2 hours and at most 3 hours after waking up.
- On the night before the test, wear loose, comfortable clothing and avoid tight clothes, especially around the chest.
- Avoid sexual intercourse and sexual contact on the night before the test.
- For 12 hours before the test, avoid exercise and strenuous physical activity, and stop taking contraceptive pills, chlorpromazine and methyldopa as advised by your doctor.
- Stress at the time of the test, especially in the 30 minutes before it, causes incorrect results, so patients should keep their stress to a minimum and wait completely calmly.
